Community Walk Tours in Uganda

Community walk can also be arranged for the visitors to meet the local communities and this activity is also considered by very many tourists as an interesting one. Visit the Batwa (pygmy) families in the area. A village walk around the Buhoma community allows visitors to understand the cultural aspects of the Batwa Forest people, as they perform their cultural dances, introduce their traditional healers; explain their farming methods, and women explain to visitors their weaving skills. Visitors can also purchase art and craft items made by the local people.

For those who are interested in learning more from the local Ugandans, cultural encounters with the local people can be organized. Meeting the local pygmy people is as rewarding as you can socialize with them, entertain you as well as explain to you how they have managed to leave in the area. If interested you can purchase their locally made items

This is also a rewarding activity organized at the park most especially to those who want to expand their knowledge of local Ugandan culture. Arrangements can be made to visit the local community. These people may entertain you as they perform their cultural dances, introduce to you their farming methods and explain to you how they have managed to live in the area. You can also buy the locally produced art and craft items from the park tourist office at Kanyanchu.

Cultural walk in Kidepo Valley National Park

Cultural walks can also be organized for those who are interested in expanding their knowledge of local Ugandan culture, you can visit the local Karamajong homesteads to see their traditional costumes and jewelry making, Karamajongs can organize traditional dances, explain to you how they have managed to live in the area, weaving skills among others. And those who are interested in purchasing the locally produced craft items can access them from the park tourist office.
