A Day trip to Jinja, the adrenaline capital of Uganda. Visit the Source of the Nile; enroute to Jinja tour Mabira rainforest, the spectacular Sezibwa falls, a spiritual and cultural centre. Alternatively, go for a full or half day white water rafting. Other things to do include; Wild Nile jet boating, the Nile high bungy jumping, Quad biking, Kayaking, Horse riding.
Day 1- Transfer to Jinja
You will be picked from your hotel early in the morning by our tour guide to begin your journey to Eastern Uganda. Enroute stop over at the Sezibwa falls- a unique Buganda cultural site located along the Jinja Kampala highway. After exploring the falls proceed with the trip passing through Mabira forest where you will stop over for a forest walk, expect to encounter different species of butterfly and primates including the red tailed monkey, grey cheeked managabey, vervet monkeys among others. After lunch proceed to Jinja and head directly to the Source of the Nile( world’s longest river). You will explore the source on dug-out canoe and then later visit surrounding craft shops for some souvenirs. Dinner and overnight stay at 2 Friends Guest House (budget), Gately On Nile / Jinja Nile Resort (Up-market)
Day 2- White water rafing
After breakfast, headout for a full/ half day rafting adventure on the Nile. Get prepared by listening to some briefing , fitting of life jackets and few minutes training. Feel the adrenaline rush as you paddle with your team though grade 5 rapids for over 11 km. If your doing half day rafting, your trip will end on Malubisi island where you have lunch and drinks but if your on full day , it will continue to the last Nile Special wave with a mouth watering buffet and drinks at the end.
Note: If you’re not interested in rafting, there are plenty of other fun-filled activities you can enjoy while on tour in Jinja and these include Bungee Jumping, River Kayaking, Quad biking, horseback riding, Jet boating among others. Depart Jinja and return to Kampala arriving late in the evening
