Tanzania is an East African country known for its vast wilderness areas. They include the plains of Serengeti National Park, a safari mecca populated by the “big five” game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino), and Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa’s highest mountain. Offshore lie the tropical islands of Zanzibar, with Arabic influences, and Mafia, with a marine park home to whale sharks and coral reefs.

After a nice lunch you will start your first activity, a boat safari on the Rufiji River! A lot of
animals are drawn to this water body like crocodiles, elephants, buffalos, hippos and waterbirds.
It is the life line of the reserve and a boat safari is a great way of exploring this part of the game
reserve.
After an early breakfast it is time to explore Selous by car. Did you know that Selous game
reserve is over three times the size of the Serengeti!? Not only is the Selous the largest game
reserve in Africa, it is also a World Heritage Site, and steeped in history as the second oldest
game reserve in the World.
The Selous has Africa’s largest elephant, buffalo, crocodile and hippo populations, as well as
great numbers of lion, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, bushbuck, eland, greater kudu, leopard and
antelope. It is also the best place in Africa to see the very rare African wild dog, over 30% of
Africa’s wild dog roam these wild and rugged landscapes.
Once again you will wake up early for a full day safari in this wonderful reserve. You can take a
packed lunch with you to have a picnic lunch somewhere in the park.
In the afternoon you will go for an exciting walking safari which will bring you up close with
Giraffes, gazelles and even Elephants! An armed Ranger is there to protect you and tell you more
about the different trails of animals you will find along the way.
After an early breakfast you will head out for your last game drive en-route to the airstrip. This is
your last chance to spot some animals on the way!
Then it is time to say goodbye to the staff of the lodge and the amazing experiences you had in
Selous game reserve. You will fly with the morning flight of Coastal avaition back to Dar es
